I saw this button showing up on YouTube videos today—it reads "Enhance" and looks like a play button with a wand in the corner. If it's a new feature, do you know how to disable it?

I just checked a few YouTube videos you know about and didn’t see any new icons or buttons. If you can, please take a screenshot and share it here via imgur.

This button has existed for a year. The only solution is to avoid having the mouse pointer on the screen while using it.

Microsoft Edge, and the search indicates a Chrome extension enhancer exists, though I haven't used Chrome or found it in my extensions list.

Really? pretty sure I would have noticed it. I can't completely say its not possible but considering how often I leave the mouse over the screen really don't think so.
and there is no way to get rid of it?

No idea. However, the two links you shared display the Enhance button alongside the Picture-in-Picture option, which can be disabled in your YouTube profile settings under Playback. If it assists, I have never logged in to YouTube and don’t see either button.

It occurred to me as well after the latest update from Edge yesterday. Until they resolve it, visit the URL edge://flags, locate "microsoft video super resolution," and turn it off.
