I worked with an old TV when I set up Windows using a 1330x768 screen, an HDMI cable, and an old TV. It functioned properly then and still does on the same TV without any problems. Switching to a SmartTV or another monitor, I bought a new LG MP59G display and a fast Hama HDMI cable with Ethernet. The connection failed completely—no signal at all. Connecting via TeamViewer caused strange behavior; Device Manager refreshed itself repeatedly, sometimes cancelling menus, yet the Nvidia driver remained active. On the LG monitor, I saw occasional white flashes but no usable output. When using Nvidia Control Panel, the display tab would refresh and disappear after about ten seconds. Changing resolution in Windows settings auto-refreshed, prompting a confirmation before saving changes. Even the BIOS logo didn’t appear at startup, and no signal reached the GPU. The GPU ran fine, but using the old cable on the new screen via TeamViewer only showed a digital display without any connected monitor. Switching to the Hama 1.4 HDMI version resolved the issue, allowing the monitor to connect and refresh properly. It seems the problem lies in the driver or connection setup rather than hardware itself.
