I’m assembling a setup from spare components and trying to get the display working. The RX 580 runs smoothly in another Windows 10 system, so that’s stable. The motherboard functions with a different GPU in the same slot, and it boots without problems. With the XFX/Asus combo I’ve reset the BIOS and tested all video outputs from the GPU. There’s only one PCI-E slot on the motherboard, which works fine. In this setup the GPU power light is blue and the fans are running. The power supply is a Corsair RM750x, which should provide ample power. Let me know if you need more details. I’ve built several systems before and this one is giving me trouble.
Hi, thanks for your message! I used an older Quadro FX 580, which means it didn’t have the PCI-E power connector from the PSU. That’s a key point (if you were considering that). I’m using the blue light on the GPU and noting the PSU’s 750-watt rating as evidence it’s getting sufficient power, which seems reasonable. However, since the PSU is fully modular, I changed the cable and connected it to different PCI-E ports on the PSU. The unit is still more than a few years old but appears to be working fine otherwise. The CPU is an i5-6600.
I modified the BIOS to fix compatibility issues with your XFX 580. Your MOBO is newer and should work now. Open the BIOS settings, look for CSM: and adjust the values if needed. Take a screenshot of the original settings before making changes. If you're unsure, consider resetting the CMOS afterward.
