System specifications: AMD Rizen 7 3700x G Skill Z Royal 32gb (16x2) Asus 2060 super OC Asus Prime X-570-P Samsung 1T SSD. We first checked cables and monitors but got no results, so we examined the graphics card. We replaced it with the same model from another machine, which also failed. This led us to suspect the motherboard was faulty. We swapped in a Tuff Gaming x-570, double-checked the CPU pins before installing, but nothing changed. The motherboard LEDs showed a DRAM problem. We replaced the RAM with an identical set from a working system, still no success. We also tested the internal video outputs, but nothing worked. The SSD hasn’t been checked yet, though I’m wondering if the system could boot from it even if dead. It’s frustrating because my kids spent a lot of effort trying to afford this and he’s only been using it for a short time. Thank you for any advice anyone might have. We’re stuck.

The onboard video won't function without an APU. If it displays DRAM, verify the RAM slots one by one and reset your CMOS. Try a single slot at a time to identify which isn't working.

We changed the RAM but only used one stick per slot and nothing worked. We haven’t checked CMOS clearing yet. Could a faulty RAM stick affect the CMOS on both boards?

I took the system off, connected the terminals, inserted a single stick in slot #2, but received no response. Switched the sticks around all slots, toggling power on and off, still nothing. *exhausted expression*

Avoid the usual steps. Reset the CMOS by removing the battery. Place one known working RAM stick in the slot and try accessing BIOS. Verify the CPU orientation carefully, adjusting screws gradually. Follow Linus’s guidance in videos. If needed, consider swapping CPUs. Proceed one variable at a time.

I removed the battery and reset the CMOS. After that, I reinstalled the battery, repositioned the CPU pins, and checked RAM in a functional system. I tested slots 2 and 4 first—booted without issues. Then I put both RAM sticks back in and turned it on, but nothing appeared on the screen.

Now you're sure the RAM is functioning properly. The next step is to evaluate the CPU in a stable system, provided you have one. If that works, the mainboard is likely the issue. If it doesn't, try using the CPU from your working system on the mainboard to determine if that resolves the problem. Also, remember—did you update the BIOS to accommodate the CPU? It should be available in the OOTB, though you might not realize it!
