Recently, I experienced a persistent problem while playing Hades. Early in my session, my monitors went dark and all fans sped up to maximum. Resetting the PC and power buttons became difficult, and I had to shut it down using the PSU. This was the third incident this week. The second crash ended abruptly, with the PC powering off completely. During today’s crash (the third), I also saw the CPU indicator lit up near the top right of the motherboard. After inspecting, the thermal paste appeared sticky but remained liquid. It seems the issue is specific to Hades. I’ve played League at Ultra Uncapped and Speedrunners without problems recently, and I ran synthetic tests on components. No crashes occurred with Furmark (1440p), Haven (Ultra 1440p), or OCCT (power, GPU, or full system for one hour each). The specs are listed here. My BIOS and GPU drivers were updated three days ago after the second crash. I’m using Windows 10 x64 Education. Appreciate your assistance!

Press the power button firmly for over 20 seconds to try shutting it down. Check the Windows Event Viewer for any critical events and their details. Instead of using artificial tests, experiment with various games to observe if the issue persists. This appears to point toward a hardware problem rather than a software fault.

The main issue is the Kernel Power warning about an unclean shutdown. There are several Office-related errors lasting over two hours after the crash, plus two Game Bar alerts. The Game Bar messages point to a DCOM registration problem on the Windows server, which seems unrelated. I checked a setting that lets Game Bar start via controller and turned it off just to rule it out. I plan to try other games to check for thermal problems. I believe this is hardware-related, as I've successfully run Hades on this PC for over two years without problems. I'll share more updates after testing, thanks for your assistance!

Following the day's fixes, the components were rearranged and cleaned thoroughly. The CPU, RAM, GPU, and power connectors were reassembled carefully, including removing the fan from the CPU tower cooler. The CPU and cooler were sanitized with isopropyl alcohol. The CPU was repositioned and the CMOS cleared using XMP settings. BIOS adjustments were made, but temperature alarms weren't enabled. No changes were needed on other aspects. After nine hours of operation, CPU temperatures stabilized below normal levels. I tested the system with demanding games and noticed GPU strain. For stress testing, consider games that push CPU limits—such as those on Eigenvektor or Hades. Let me know if you'd like more bench suggestions. Tomorrow I'll check the original issue in Hades.

I discovered a firmware update for my GPU and applied it, yet the problem persists. I also attempted Cult of the Lamb because its style is similar, but I haven’t managed to trigger the crash in other games. I’m guessing this thread is too low activity to be useful, so I’ll share more details if I come across anything new.
