Before you add that link, I checked it out. It didn’t assist much. I’m connecting a VGA to HDMI adapter for my monitor, using a GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM and a Ryzen CPU (no built-in graphics). The GPU fans aren’t turning on either. The screen seems to ignore the connection.

The connection is perfectly fine. It assisted many other users.
Consider that the adapter may be the problem. Is it functioning properly?
Also note, VGA to HDMI conversion isn't the same as HDMI to VGA—they work differently.

bacwrds :
Before you put that stupid link in, I looked at it. And it didn't help. I am using a vga to hdmi adapter for my monitor, and I'm using a gtx 1060 3gb with a ryzen cpu (no integrated graphics) the gpu fans don't spin up either. The monitor acts like nothing is connected.
If the list didn't help, what were the RESULTS of EACH step in the list. Give us SOMETHING to work with here.

The connection is perfectly fine. It assisted many other users. The problem could lie with the adapter—does it work? Also, remember that VGA to HDMI conversion isn't the same as HDMI to VGA; they're distinct. How can I tell if it's functioning properly?

Is this the product you're referring to? It appears to be a cable adapter for HDMI on Amazon.

It seems to be a link to a product page. The item appears to be a black HDMI adapter with no screw holes.
