Hi! I recently upgraded my PC with a new SSD, an AM5 motherboard, a Ryzen 7600 XT processor, and new RAM. The chassis and power supply remain the same, while the old graphics card is still in use. I installed a fresh version of Windows 11 on the SSD, which started working smoothly after some initial screen flickering. Once running, it functioned well; however, certain applications like Task Manager would freeze or crash, and the PC booted slowly. When launching games via Steam or Battle.net, they wouldn’t start at all. I attempted to reinstall Steam multiple times, along with the games and verified the files. Using administrator mode or older compatibility settings helped, but other launchers didn’t work either. All drivers were updated. I even tried a Windows 11 reinstall to resolve the issue, but it didn’t fix it. I’ve watched several tutorials, but none resolved the problem. I’m quite inexperienced and can’t fix it myself. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Flickering, task manager issues, Edge problems. There are more issues than just games. What is the age of the RX590 and the 500w power supply? What is the motherboard model? Have you updated the BIOS? Did you install drivers from the manufacturer's website or a driver utility, or are they installed via Windows?

590 is about four years old. Psu is around five years old. The motherboard is an MSI Pro A620M-E. The BIOS hasn't been updated, but drivers for the CPU and GPU have been added via the Amds website.

Install the drivers available from MSI for that motherboard:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-A620...ort#driver
Ensure the BIOS is up to date, as outdated BIOS can affect performance. Motherboards may remain unused for extended periods. Verify the BIOS version.
Identify the PSU model; a typical warranty duration for most units is around five years, except for premium models.

Hi. Ive updated the bios and installed all the drivers. Checked and the Psu is older, about 6-7 Years. Model is Chieftec Force.
Still the exact same problem. Edge works completly fine and the pc boots well. No games run at all, from battle net, steam or even games from Itch.io that I have downloaded. Task manager often freezes, and there seems to be a problem to close games. They either black screen or dont open at all. When I close them nothing happens. Task manager can shut them down, as to say the black screen closes down. But it still says the program is running. Task manager then freezes and has to close down.
On steam ex cetera every game is stuck on launching, but no game is launching at all. Task manager dont find them either.
Solitaire works fine if its any help. Spotify aswell, and pther games from microsoft store like candy crush.

Sorry this is a repost but I direly want my pc to work.
I just upgraded my pc. I bought a new SSD 1tb, new am5 motherboard and Ryzen 7600 xt and new ram. Basically a new computer just keeping the chassi and power supply and old graphics card.
I installed a new version of windows 11 on the SSD. It booted perfectly with some screen flickering. But once running it went fine. Some windows like task manager froze and crashed and edge aswell. Otherwise the pc booted fast and other programs opened as indented.
But once launching games, trough steam or battle net they wont start. They wont even boot at all.
I tried reinstalling steam multiple times. Aswell as the games, and verifying the game files. I launched steam with administrator and even older compatability modes. Other launchers as battle net or epic games wont work aswell. Every driver is updated.
Even tried to reinstall windows 11 again to fix the problem, but it still did not work. Tried net framework repair tool and it did not fix the problem. I have watched several tutorials on this particular problem but none have worked. I am skill gapped, cant fix it. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Pc specs
Rx 590 ( 4 years old )
Ryzen 7600
Ddr5 6000 mhz
500 w power supply. ( Chieftec Force 7 years old )
nvme 1 tb ssd
Ive updated the bios and installed all the drivers.

Hey there,
Did you reset the CMOS after updating the bios? If not, we need to confirm it.

Anyone have suggestions? Upgrading the power supply is essential. It's strange that no Steam game can run properly. Are you purchasing in the US or Europe? PSUs are significantly more expensive in Europe. Which retailer should you consider? You might want to check these options:

SeaSonic G12 GC 550w ~70 euro
SeaSonic G12 GM 650w ~85 euro
Corsair RM650 ~85 euro
SeaSonic Focus GX-750 ATX 3.0 ~130 euro

As expected, the Focus model is clearly the highest quality PSU among them. The G12 offers reliability and a 5-year warranty, making it a solid option if you can't afford to spend more.

Since the GPU isn't receiving enough power, even a basic GPU like the 7600 requires a strong and consistent supply from a dependable source if you want to do more than just keep it running in idle mode. A 6-year-old Chieftec PSU is considered a very basic power supply. It's important to choose one with good build quality so it operates correctly. A weak PSU will lead to frequent shutdowns, unless your system manages to start up properly.
