No USB Type E header on the motherboard
Hello everyone! I just moved from a Corsair Carbide 175r to a Corsair 4000d airflow. It makes a big difference overall. There’s also a front header USB Type C port on the case and a Type A USB 3.1 port available. My motherboard, Gigabyte Aorus Elite B550 AX, has an internal header for USB 3.1 Gen 2, which I’ve connected to the front panel USB slot plus two USB 2 headers. It doesn’t have a Type-C header, though it seems labeled as a Type-E. What options do I have to connect this to the same 3.1 Gen 2 header as the Type A port? I was hoping there’s a way to split or modify it so both ports work together. If not, can it be adapted for USB 2 at least? Or would an add-on board be needed without looking too out of place? Thanks!
As mentioned in my previous message, only internal connectors are available for Type-C motherboard headers.
Fascinating. It seems you could try a workaround, though it might be limited since you only have one USB 3 header linked to the type A port.
