No USB connection, no bootable media in the BIOS/UEFI settings
No USB connection, no bootable media in the BIOS/UEFI settings
Hello. I recently acquired a used ASUS ProArt StudioBook W700G2T. It remains in excellent condition and was functional for some time. The software performed flawlessly, though my subconscious OCD tendencies made me obsess over rearranging the two NVMe drives. The 512GB was assigned to Drive 1 and the 2TB to Drive 0. This arrangement left me uncertain about which drive should host my OS (Windows 10 and Zorin OS 17)—I wanted the smaller drive for the operating system on Drive 0 and the larger one for storage and software updates on Drive 1. I opened the BIOS and swapped the drives, which brought me a sense of relief. However, upon restarting, the system returned to its previous state except that the NVMe devices now displayed correctly according to my observation. There were no USB drives detected, nor any bootable media. So I tried to challenge my OCD mindset by reverting the drives back to their original positions, but it didn’t work. Now none of my installation USB sticks show up either. I’m still missing a way to reinstall an OS on this machine. As noted, everything seems unchanged except for the absence of bootable devices and USB drives. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Edited September 2, 2024 by Kosenator
