EA ceased supporting EA Downloader several years back, which caused the removal of the games you purchased through it. This remains the reason I avoid buying titles on Origin.

It's conceivable that EA might lose popularity over time, resulting in fewer game sales. They could shift focus to selling exclusively on Steam. It would be a hopeful situation. EDIT: The top response isn't necessarily the best.
