No updates available regarding the release timeline for MSI X570S motherboards.
MSI announced their new refreshed X570S motherboard lineup almost two months ago. All I've seen so far is the X570S Tomahawk. It doesn't seem like the otherb boards launched and just sold out, as I can't find any sold out product page for them. Has there been any word when the rest of them might become available? I'm in the market for a new MB and would really like to try out the Meg X570S Ace Max, but I don't really want to wait several months to buy something and may just go with the Dark Hero or Aorus Master if it's going to be a long wait due to the chip shortage or the whole global logistics/shipping nightmare going on right now.
If you're not ready to wait, just place another order. This isn't the main office—no one here knows when their delayed items will arrive.
Good luck with the logistics challenges! These X570S boards from China and Taiwan have been hard to get in bulk, and it seems shipping volumes are still low. Don’t wait if you can’t afford delays.
I understood the concern. It isn't urgent, and I can wait a little longer. Shipping from China usually takes around two months, so hopefully we'll have them next month. I'm okay with that. I wasn't sure if the boards were officially available or if MSI was just delaying their release until next year. I couldn't find any details online.
It was clear that there were no whispers or official statements from MSI on social media.
If you want to wait, I guess that's your thing, but there's really no reason to. The only difference between X570 and X570S is that the latter has a passively cooled chipset. However, the mobo has to practically be on fire before the active chipset cooling kicks in on the X570, anyways. If your concern is chipset fan noise, you needn't worry. The fan will virtually never come on, anyways, and it's not like it's loud even if it does. I'd just go ahead and get an X570 and move on with your life.
The passive heatsink draws attention, but the X570’s top performance comes from more than just the heatsink. The Ace Max offers capabilities the Ace lacks, while the Ace is missing some key features. MDS chose to refresh their X570 boards rather than just adding a passive heatsink, as seen with ASUS’s Dark Hero design.
