You're looking for a way to enjoy the game on your Mac despite compatibility issues. There might be alternatives or solutions you can explore, such as finding a different version of the game that works with macOS or using a compatible emulator. Checking community forums or official support pages could also help uncover workarounds.

wine can be quite challenging to manage. I wondered if it’s possible to run non-steam titles via Valve’s Proton Layer on Linux too—though that would mean also using Linux, which might push you toward a separate Windows setup with a bootcamp install.

Based on my wine knowledge, it's quite simple to operate (I'm using Arch Linux, not MacOS, and haven't played games there before).

What operating system is your Mac running? You might be able to set up Linux and use Proton.
