I’m preparing to purchase 32GB of Trident Z RGB 3600MHz RAM for an Asus Maximus X Hero Z370 board. The product listing mentions compatibility with AMD Ryzen 3000 and X570 series, Intel Z390 and newer models. This indicates the RAM should work with your motherboard. Regarding your questions, the speeds you mentioned are comparable, but timing differences can matter—higher timings like CL16 vs CL18 might affect stability or performance in certain scenarios. With an 8GB CPU like the 8700K, both 3200MHz and 3600MHz RAM should perform similarly unless specific games push higher frequencies. Timing improvements often provide only marginal gains unless you’re pushing extreme settings.

When ECC isn't relevant, DDR4 remains DDR4. It functions properly. If costs match, I prefer the 3600MHz option. Adjusting timings is simpler than increasing speed, in my opinion.
