It should work. An i7 920 with a GTX 470 can handle 1080p at 30 frames per second, although recent 16-player updates may cause performance issues. This is the typical experience when using alpha software.

It's challenging to be completely certain about these issues since we don't fully understand the difficulty of the PU. I wish they could improve the optimization, but things are unpredictable.
