Currently many new franchises launch, but I'm curious about the status of these classic ones... 1. Max Payne 2. Prince of Persia 3. Dead Space 4. Burnout 5. Bully 6. Castlevania 7. DmC 8. Splinter Cell Why do we always get the same type of free play (Assassin Creed, first person in COD/BF) or realism every year?
Criterion ceased operations and was later purchased by EA, becoming part of NFS in 2012.
I question if another Splinter Cell title will appear after Tom Clancy leaves... It’s sad I miss Sam Fisher; I enjoyed Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist more than Hitman counterparts. Assassins Creed largely took the place of Prince of Persia... Rockstar seems to have hinted that Bully 2 might never come due to its controversial nature. Has Castlevania released recently? The other franchises I don’t really care about, though one I’d like to highlight is The Legend of Spyro, which I hope sees new life every day.
Games from series such as Assassins Creed and COD perform well and generate significant revenue.
Well Crash didn't get recycle to boost up a shitty childish franchise like the Skylanders Also I am not looking for the old platform style from PlayStation 1 games, I actually enjoyed the most of the actual The Legend of Spyro trilogy that came afterwards. Dawn of the Dragon is still my most iconic xbox360 game ever, I like to call it tied up with Red Dead Redemption, A hack'n'slash semi-rpg with actually awesome story and solid main characters where you actually played as a dragon rather than some humanoid like every other similar game? Damn that was pure gold for me. Not to mention the romance between Spyro and Cynder :3~
It appears another project is already underway (or was recently active). Four years may seem long for an Ubisoft leader, yet it doesn’t imply the series is gone. Castlevania belongs to Konami, so its path likely stays within Japanese themed pachinko machines. Koji Igarashi’s legacy is being carried forward by a new developer in progress.
