Hey there, I'm just starting out with a 4790K and an Asus Z97-PRO Wi-Fi AC. Lately, I've seen prices drop really fast—Intel 4790Ks are selling for around £200, while Z97 Mobos are hitting about £150. It seems like the best move now is to upgrade to a Ryzen 3000 with an X570 motherboard for better future options. P.S., this is my first post, so feel free to ask if you need guidance!
That's kinda my issue tbh, I know prices are high now so I could sell up and get basically what I put in when I built the system in 2014; I just don't wanna miss the boat if ya get me. I've got nothing to loose if I get an upgrade out of it, I was thinking I could just go down the B450 route, sell the rest of my DDR3 ram and I should be sitting at basically a free or at least very cheap upgrade. Do you have any rough ideas how long it'll be till the new stuff should be released? I'm just worried nothing will come out with Corona shutting everything down or I'll miss selling my old stuff while my hardware still has good value. Edit: Also thanks for the advice, it all helps.
Do you have confidence in finding a trustworthy buyer and securing a fair price? What is your financial limit? Do you have any alternative methods to secure a purchase while you wait? If yes, proceed with the sale. However, no one can predict what will happen when the market shifts for that 10900k F5 model.
