System: Ryzen 5 3600, RX580, 2X Team group Vulkan 3200, 8GB DDR4 (SK Hynix C-Die). I believe I've reached my limit with the fixed memory configurations from the Ryzen memory calculator. I pushed my RAM up to 3733 at fast timings before errors started appearing in memtest. (I also experimented with a voltage of 1.45, but it didn’t help much.) Eventually, I settled on the last stable "fast" profile. Currently I'm at 3666 with these settings. I’m completely new to memory overclocking beyond what’s possible from CPU tuning in the past. If there’s still room for improvement, I’m content with my progress so far—benchmark results have been solid. I managed to climb into the top 6 on 3Dmark leaderboards for this configuration and would love to push further to claim the highest rank. I haven’t succeeded before in this area, so I’m eager to see how much more I can achieve. Any suggestions?
My targets were starting to show me the way. I was really aiming to adjust the timing at 3666 because that seems ideal. It’s tough to get it to start at 3600 fast, but it does boot and runs smoothly at 3666 fast, though it’s not stable at 3733. Here are my current benchmarks.
Yeah. At first I was throwing errors during memtest at 3733, so I cranked all the voltages to the top recommended level from DRAM calculations and added all the extra settings that are usually optional in the videos I watched about OCing Ryzen memory. Nothing happened. I guess I pushed it as high as 1.13 in the SOC IIRC before giving up.
For benchmarking, it's fine at 3733 under slower speeds. The focus is on improving performance to achieve faster results. Using safer, more relaxed timing settings earlier actually leads to better performance at higher speeds compared to tighter constraints.
