Yes, pause the session. I've never experienced a problem with the Epic Games launcher. I own more than 30 titles in it. You can stop the download if needed—it functions perfectly on my system. Stay connected. Downloads run at full capacity each time I load a game. Are you based in the USA? This was made by you, not Epic. To resolve, remove the 3% downloaded file from the folder where you saved it (including the game folder) and clear any saved data in My Documents under WB Games (if it's Batman). It should be titled "Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY." Wipe that entire directory and reinstall. I haven't seen a single issue since its December 2018 release. As you mentioned, no action needed unless you delete the installation folders again. When the Batman games are installed, let me know if you face any issues unlocking the 62 fps restriction—it's straightforward. Hope this assists. These comments are meant to help.

I’m sharing this experience to warn others. I stumbled on a discussion by searching multiple times, which led me into a similar situation. Unless I take my responsibility and leave a comment, I risk falling into the same mistake. Please keep this in mind: don’t follow Skiiwee29 on this matter. He’s mistaken. Right now, I’m downloading a 90 gig game from Epic Games Launcher. I was halfway through when I needed to restart my PC for a Windows security update. I worried about losing progress, so I paused the download, restarted, and tried to resume it. Unfortunately, all 50 gigs vanished, and the download began fresh. I checked my SSD to rule out corrupted files, but everything was clean—just deleted during EGL closure. It must have taken several hours, and I lost a lot of time. This isn’t ideal.

It looks like you're dealing with a similar issue with GTA V. You mentioned downloading around 28 GB and still facing problems. You're trying to fix it carefully to avoid further issues.

It occurred with me too in GTA V. I thought it might be because switching the download source from the System Disk (local drive C) could cause this issue.

There’s a way to keep progressing after a restart. Make sure you save the file before it gets lost. If you resume without saving, the app might delete the data and start fresh. This could act as a safeguard, though it’s just a theory—no full test yet. It’s similar to a protection system that can be bypassed if you follow certain steps.

You discovered the solution you were looking for. Just turned off your PC without closing the Epic Launcher, and it worked! (And yeah, GTA... it’s wild what happens next xDDD). Sorry for the English mix-up—hope you like it! Greetings from Spain.

It occurred to me initially after my computer crashed during a download. The previous evening I paused the download before closing it. This time, when I restarted this morning, the progress kept going.

Absolutely, that's correct—Windows Insta-kill can help with quicker shutdowns.

Last night I ended the launcher abruptly and turned it off, then cleaned it up to 0% today in the morning. Now I paused, closed it again, and restarted—it works now.

Epic games was a corrupted installer, so I saved 72GB or 94GB from GTA V. When I restarted my PC, it would completely wipe everything again. It took me all day downloading, but the only solution was to restart the process and close the launcher before powering off, then pause, close the app, and shut down.
