Is the value worth it? It seems many are unsure about its future, though it appears to be moving toward free-to-play.
It's planned to launch as free-to-play. Early access testing will require payment. Your opinion on early access matters a lot.
You'll probably enjoy this if you liked DayZ. Check out some battle royale or survival streams live.
It kicks the crap out of DayZ in a lot of ways, mostly because DayZ is a broken unoptimized piece of crap. Sadly the survival in H1Z1, like most games sucks because of the community. Everyone is KOS and it sucks, also there are not as many zombies as there should be. Zombies should be a huge problem, not a minor distraction. There's really no reason to play it other than Battle Royale.
H1z1 is highly streamlined too, improving performance mainly through significantly less graphics, rendering distance, and overall complexity. DayZ is mostly lacking in optimization for multicore CPUs, which limits its speed. Visually, it performs reasonably well. Before assuming it's flawed, give it a try—currently it has no major game-breaking issues, and the existing bugs are just minor inconveniences. It outperforms h1shit1 in every aspect, so verify your claims before drawing broad conclusions.
My friend really enjoys it, and I’m thinking about purchasing it soon as well.
One issue in the latest release breaks gameplay, demonstrating your point. Otherwise, your reasoning doesn't hold up. The bug completely disrupts the game experience, not just its performance.
