Sorry if this has been answered currently looking for some form of definitive answer. Regarding chipsets and boards for ryzen 5000 series is it true that there will not be a new chipset being released for this series of cpus? With that in mind x570 would be the chipset to go for then ? As im looking to make the board purchase before the cpu release for hopefully better option of boards.

Based on current information, it appears no new chipset will be released. I’d likely search for an X570 or B550 board that supports BIOS flashback, ensuring any required updates are handled without needing an older CPU. Many boards probably already include a BIOS version 5000 ready.

Thanks for the details. The main issue is that my old Z87 motherboard has more USB ports than what I'm currently considering.

Daym that's one more than what I have now. Plus £250 compared to the price back then.

There are eight units, three of which support USB 3.0 and two with USB 3.1. Your board doesn’t include those models.

Absolutely correct, though USB often works as USB in many situations.

I think everyone should have a few USB 2.0 ports for mice and keyboards. I don’t like using the fast USB3 port with a keyboard—it feels awkward and unnecessary.
