Make sure to update the BIOS prior to exchanging CPUs, and you're definitely allowed to run the 3700X on that board.

I've noticed many people grumbling about the VRMs on this motherboard. If you're okay with the stock R7 3700X, that's perfectly fine now.

In contrast, my setup uses a CoolerMaster H500 Mesh with a 240mm AIO mounted on top, which doesn’t seem to contribute much to VRM cooling.
