Hey there, I saw a lot about Gigabyte products being good, but their software seems really lacking. Is it true that all their programs are terrible? I was thinking about buying a Gigabyte Mobo and then stumbled upon some discussions saying the software is a mess. They often mention problems that seem to target customers. Could you help me verify this? Thanks!
It varies. Their motherboard often comes with unnecessary bloatware that can be removed. The RGB settings are also not great. It really depends on the specific board. For instance, the X570 Aorus Master performs well.
I checked the product page and others described it negatively. Do you think it might still be worth considering?
Gigabyte is kinda like Thermaltake when it comes to components, some of their stuff is utter garbage, and some of their stuff is fine (Gigabyte does make more good than Thermaltake, but still). For example, the only motherboard that I've had die on me is a Gigabyte Ultradurable, so I am a bit against them for that, even though it is in their lower end of their product stack. While that board does look fine, I would personally go for something else just for the peace of mind with the other parts I've used from them giving me a bit of hesitation.
Their program is really poor quality. My friend uses an Aorus x370 and an Aorus 1080ti. In the RGB tool, for instance, changing colors on the GPU affects the motherboard display. The motherboard controls RAM, and even the right shades don't work properly. It's quite disappointing.
