I would examine the CPU and RAM connectors for bent pins. Verify that the power connectors aren't having pins protrude. You mentioned it's stripped—have you removed it from the case and tested just the PSU, mainboard, and CPU? Run it with a screwdriver shorting the two power pins, then refer to the mainboard manual for guidance. Typically, pin 3 and 4 are located in the left top row.
I've already tested it. After checking, there aren't any visible bent pins. I've also used a different PSU but the same issue appears. Shorting the power pins didn't help either, so it seems the problem is with the motherboard—perhaps a capacitor is damaged. I'm not sure if I have the time to find schematics and search for the fix.
ouch.. well you could inspect it under a magnifying glass to see if you find something that seems odd.. but they are hard to spot unless you are trained did you try with just one ram stick .. if it didn't work try the other?.. that's an old system btw.. 4 gen.. from 2013ish? .. think i got a 3rd gen in 2012.. alot can happen in 10 years.. and sometimes they just wait for someone to change or do something with it to break.. hence.. never touch a running system..
Have you explored removing the CMOS battery using the short connector and small screwdriver, then reinstalling it? Or tried powering off, unplugging, moving the jumper wire to reset, and reconnecting power afterward? If the device is very old, have you considered swapping the CMOS battery for a fresh one?
I attempted but it didn’t work well. The battery still provides 3V, which is why I tried it. I’ll check if a smaller motherboard with a 1150 socket or the same model is available.
