It carries some risk, but often for non-OEM prices you can purchase 4 or 5 keys from key resellers. Even if you need to buy three new keys, you’d still save money.

OEM needs to follow system builder guidelines that forbid applying to personal computers you made yourself.
Microsoft doesn’t enforce this at all.
You won’t find any packaging matching the genuine product you expect.
It’s confusing to pay someone who seems to be using a key generator.
Some items are only available through B2B channels, which these individuals wouldn’t post on Reddit.
