My Xbox 360 controller is badly damaged after about five years. I connected a new Nvidia one, and Windows installed the corresponding driver. The track pad moves only left and right, it isn’t listed as a USB game controller in Device Manager, but it appears as an HID compliant game controller. Counter Strike GO doesn’t recognize it either—it’s not the game I’m playing. From what I’ve seen before, it should work with the Xbox 360 setup. GeForce Experience is installed and seems to be inactive, yet it functions. Now I’m using my laptop to run older titles because it’s simpler on a TV. It has a GeForce 740m GT (not a GTX). Plus, I don’t need my old desktop to achieve 200 FPS for a game that wasn’t that hard back then. I know some people complain about this controller, like it only works on Nvidia PCs, but it actually does work with the Xbox 360. I’m aware of the issues around it—like not working on non-Nvidia systems—and it makes no sense if it’s designed only for GTX cards.
It's already happening. Why would NVIDIA treat this as a scientific challenge when they have a dedicated site for it?
Unexpected result. The FPS tracker fails completely at 840 meters.
Apparently to enable playing on a PC with that controller, you need a firmware update. Basically means controller firmware update. ^ Is this what you're experiencing?
I've restarted my laptop, reconnected the controller several times, and attempted the following titles: CSGO (XInput compatible), GRID 2 (also XInput compatible), Batman Arkam City (XInput com.), Dirt 2 (Xinput), and Fable 1 (not XInput com.). None of them recognize the controller. The 360 controller functions except for Fable.
Open the Windows game controllers settings. Look for "game controllers" in the control panel and verify that all functions operate correctly.
Here are some recommended graphics cards that work well with GeForce Experience. Standard controllers often provide better performance than these options.
