I installed a new PC build that was turning on, but it had no RAM. After connecting the fan and RGB connectors to the motherboard, when I powered it up the RGB lights appeared and then the board ceased functioning completely—no lights, no fans, nothing at all. Could plugging in incorrect RGB or case fans have caused it to fail? Once the motherboard lost all indicators and emitted no sound or odor, does that confirm it’s dead? The build is a Gigabyte Aorus Elite B650 AX v2.

I would reattach and reposition the simplest components (no fans, no RGB). If it doesn’t illuminate, it’s likely not working.
