Hi everyone! So I know pretty much nothing about chipset manufacturing or implementation, but I'm curious about this. I built a new Ryzen system this week with the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4. I noticed in both CPU-Z and HWMonitor, the chipset seems to be reported as X570. Take a look: Is this just a part being mislabeled, or could this indicate that the chipset itself is a cut-down version of X570? If so, would that mean anything, like the ability to activate locked features by flashing a custom BIOS? This doesn't fully make sense to me, knowing that X570 requires active cooling which makes me think it would be a different part entirely. Again I don't know much about this stuff but I'm really curious, would love you hear your guys' thoughts. Thanks!
I confirmed the update is B550. I dismissed it since I just installed HWMonitor, though maybe they haven't released the fix yet. Conspiracy theory time is over.
Only HWiNFO and Ryzen Master correctly display data on Zen. HW Monitor and CPU-Z often fail, showing errors and random issues with many other tools.
