AMD indicated they intended to back AM4 for four CPUs, though this remains unconfirmed and is still just a theory. A solid B450 board should handle the newest Ryzen models upon release, but this hasn't been verified yet, nor has there been clarity on the exact launch dates for the latest chips. Just because a product exists doesn't guarantee it will be in stock, manufactured, or shipped soon due to ongoing global supply issues.

I need only a PC that runs Robocraft and TeamFortress 2 at ultra on FHD. It’ll work for a while. Once I can afford the RTX 3080 and Ryzen 5 4600 or 4700x, I’ll upgrade. For now, I’m considering whether the Asus Prime B450M-K supports those CPUs or if I should opt for a better B450 and definitely go with an X570.

It’s worth choosing the JCYQZ B450 Tomahawk Max ATX motherboard. It features excellent VRMs and third-gen Ryzen support right out of the box. If it works with newer CPUs, it’ll be an excellent pick.

I understand, I'll note that. Are you looking for specific options or brands?

MSI B450 A-PRO MAX and GAMING PLUS MAX tend to be more affordable while offering similar performance to the Tomahawk. The MSI B450m MORTAR MAX seems even superior and still within a reasonable price range. The prime-k model from Asus stands out negatively in this comparison.

Checking compatibility, B450 motherboards can work with Ryzen 4000 models. I plan to upgrade from Ryzen 3 3200G to Ryzen 5 4600-7 4700x and include an RTX 3080 in the build. The system will run on a 512GB NVMe SSD with RGB lighting support.

Ensure your BIOS is updated before changing the 3200G to a 4xxx series processor.

You're unsure about updating the BIOS, but you'll likely get more information soon

I adjusted my setup after the change and acquired an X570 motherboard along with a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo drive in a different case. Now I plan to run my updated PC with the Ryzen 4000 processor.
