You're aiming to build an affordable PC for your dad's office, focusing on basic tasks like tally and web browsing. You're considering a Ryzen 5 3400G APU with an A320 motherboard and no dedicated GPU. You're curious about the A320 support for Ryzen 3rd gen chips out of the box and whether a BIOS update is needed. You also want advice on other configurations, whether skimping on the motherboard is acceptable, and if a budget motherboard will suffice for non-overclocked use. The motherboards you're planning to buy are around $70. Let me know if you need more details!

MSI's "MAX" boards come with the Ryzen 3000 included, while other models aren't confirmed. Are you referring to local prices or a conversion?

Most people do these days. You should aim for a motherboard with an appearance like this on the front—something common on current A320 and B450 models. If you're okay with the constraints of the A320, it might be fine. Just ensure it has four DIMM slots and solid VRM cooling.

Really, the A320 board has a really poor chipset. For office purposes, an Intel CPU would be more suitable, such as an i3, since it includes built-in graphics.

The system has adjusted prices based on your location. There should be no pricing issues.

I was expecting that too. Usually a price around seventy dollars would be too high for an A320, especially since parts are pricier elsewhere.

PCPartPicker selected components: CPU – Intel Core i3-10100 at 3.6 GHz Quad-Core ($129.99 from B&H); Motherboard – ASRock H410M-HDV Micro ATX LGA1200 ($59.99 from Amazon). Overall cost comes to $189.98, covering shipping, taxes, and any available discounts. This selection is expected to run more efficiently and at a lower price.

MSI's maximum boards are confirmed when the box states Ryzen 3000 ready. If the board wasn't shipped with the AGESA code for Zen + APU, you can contact a computer store or vendor to update it. What is the price of the B450 S2H/DS3H?

I reviewed the available features on AMD's site. It meets the needs of users who plan to use it. Since I'm not overclocking and they'll likely connect just a mouse and keyboard, extra USB ports aren't necessary. Do you still think it doesn’t fit your requirements?

It seems the context isn’t clear enough to judge fully. What I think is important is that the A320 appears not fully prepared for the latest models. This feels odd since recently Asrock released an updated BIOS for the Deskmini A300, which supports the new Ryzen APU.
