I've updated my setup to a new case and performed several upgrades. Now I'm missing any SATA-connected drives in both Windows and BIOS. I've removed the HDDs (power and data), changed the SSD connection ports, and switched to a different cable—currently all cables work with Cable Mod Sata cables. The NVME M.2 drive is now active as a boot device, but the system still uses an old SSD for booting. I haven't tested other drives outside the system yet, need to locate my SATA dock and haven't updated BIOS either. In BIOS I confirmed SATA is enabled, but only the M.2 appears. Could adding this NVME drive be related to the SATA issue?

Review your MOBO guide since many devices block certain SATA connections to ensure proper M.2 functionality. Just connect to the available ports.

I checked the guide and it mentioned disabling a SATA port for an SATA M.2, but my device uses NVMe and I haven’t found any issues with other ports.

It connects to the PCIe slot, not directly to the M.2 slot itself.

I assure you there is a collection of SATA connections turned off. Have you attempted connecting the storage devices to a different machine?

I'm searching for my SATA dock. I thought it would turn off something, but didn't expect it to shut down all four SATA ports.

Checked the asrock forums and saw others faced the same problem until they updated their BIOS—give it another try.

Looks like BIOS didn't resolve it. still waiting to hear back from ASRock support, first response was simply "have you tried another port"

I figured out the problem and I have to admit it was my fault. In a hurry, I probably connected the hard drive power into the PATA port on my power supply, over-voltaged them, and ended up destroying them. After that, I got new SSDs which are working perfectly. It’s a sad day for me, but a valuable lesson to always take time and double-check what I’m doing.
