CPU model: i9 10900K
Motherboard: Z590 Pro WIFI (CEC)
Bios version: 7D09vA9
OS: Windows 11
OS version: 10.0.22621
GPU: 3070
Founders Edition: Yes
Switching SSD: Moved from M2_1 to M2_2 slot after replacing the old drive.
Bios and disk management did not recognize the new SSD.
Confirmed with Newegg that the previous drive was faulty, so I swapped it in.
Now the 980 Pro is detected in M2_2 while the old remains in M2_1.
The issue appears to be with the motherboard.
Uncertain if hardware or software problem; hardware damage seems unlikely since it's a new unit.
Possible fix: Enable specific BIOS settings.
Updated details added by PressF13 on December 31, 2023.

Check if your SATA ports are ready. Here’s the link for reference: https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe...09v2.0.pdf (page 16)

Great to be here, @OddOod. Yes, port 1 is active.

That's a pretty obscure model that stayed hidden for a while. Reach out to MSI—they likely have a way to process it.

This situation came about through a similar problem I faced. My request for an RMA was processed quickly by the system, but I still had to cover shipping costs. If they can actually swap out the motherboard without resistance, that would be ideal. How did your experience turn out?
