You're facing a strange problem with your Latitude 7480. It seems the USB flash drives are working fine on other devices, but not on this one. The device recognizes the USB but doesn't mount it properly, even though Windows 10 and the BIOS are up to date. The issue might be related to the format settings or driver compatibility. Try formatting it on another machine using FAT32 and NTFS, then test again. If that doesn't work, check the USB drivers or contact the manufacturer for support.

Yes, you can manually assign a letter to the disk. Right-click the drive and select: Change drive letter and Path (note the name might differ in German).

No error returned, but no entry in the viewer means no event ID available for research.

Is the USB drive correctly recognized in the Computer Management section? You might want to remove the driver and allow Windows to reinstall it. Also, check the specific error message you received—perhaps adjusting its settings as a primary partition could help.

Identifies it as a Flash Disk USB Device, also listed under USB Devices. The message states an unexpected error occurred. Suggest refreshing the Snap-In via the refresh option or reinstalling the Snap-in. If the issue persists, restart the device. No error log was sent to the System Event viewer.
