I recently updated Windows 11, and the process completed successfully. It instructed me to restart, but after that it froze and stopped responding. I tried booting from hard drive but received no signal. The monitor went to sleep, and I couldn’t access BIOS. I’m using a display cable and haven’t changed connections yet. Any advice?

You might notice several lights on the right side of your motherboard, especially when powering on the PC. These lights often stay lit continuously. If you can share your system specifications, it would be useful to identify the issue.

The system features a Ryzen 7600X, 3060 Ti, ASRock B850M-X, and Crucial DDR5 Classic 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5 5600 memory. There are no lights near the CPU that remain lit after it fully boots up.

It hasn't been Patch Tuesday yet this month. Was that the preview update? These aren't required and act more like beta testing before the official Patch Tuesday release. Patch Tuesday falls on the second Tuesday each month, so May's is the 13th. Preview updates carry a greater chance of causing issues compared to the standard monthly patch. I tend to skip them.

I’m not sure about the exact release date, but it occurred on Monday night when I made the update.

The PC setup allows access to the BIOS. Entering BIOS lets you create a bootable Windows USB from another machine for automated fixes. My belief was that the PC itself didn’t post.
