Computer Model: Desktop GPU XFX RX 6800 XT CPU RYZEN 7 5800X Motherboard MSI B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI BIOS Version 7C91v1F RAM 32GB PSU 1200W Everest Operating Systems Windows 10 Pro & Arch Linux (Zen kernel) What Happened: Yesterday I attempted to restart my machine and it remained unresponsive, though fans continued spinning briefly before accelerating. Lights stayed on. I used a VGA to HDMI converter (my display is somewhat outdated and uncertain about compatibility). Functioned properly until the reboot. Steps Taken: Switched to an older AMD board which worked. Ensured all components were securely installed. Used BIOS reset button, CMOS reset, and DDU tool. Updated PCIe slot to version 4.0 in BIOS.
Welcome to the forums! Excellent effort on the troubleshooting. The next steps could involve testing another cable (even though you've used a reliable one, cables can behave unpredictably), checking the display, and trying the card in a different tower. If these don't resolve the issue, it's likely the card is faulty—reach out to customer service for an RMA.
It functioned properly before, but now it unexpectedly stopped working. I’ll purchase another adapter until then; otherwise, I’ll continue trying whatever I can do. Also, since it’s a used card, the warranty might have expired.
Could you share what the GPU looked like before it started sagging?
