I've shared a previous update about upgrading my brother's PC with a new CPU and motherboard. I just got the parts and installed them, also swapped out the SSD and RAM from my own machine hoping it would work. I haven't connected the GPU yet, but the PC still doesn’t show any signal. I've replaced the monitor with one that works fine too. I’m confused about what to do next—any tips?
Here are the details you requested:
- Exact components: New CPU model, New Mobo model
- Graphics note: Integrated graphics not built-in; GPU must be connected via PCIe for display functionality
CPU: Ryzen 3600, Motherboard: B450M DS3H, Case: Gigabyte, Cooler: Master Corsair, GPU: GTX 1070 PSU, Monitor: EVGA 650 Gold
It worked when the GPU was connected. That’s unusual since it didn’t before. Basically, the issue seemed to be a mix of problems—my brother’s old SSD wouldn’t work either, but after installing the GPU we should have a functional SSD again. Thanks!
It seems you were surprised by a section, but at least your team handled it well. Nice work! Welcome.
