I'm a bit moody with this situation. I'd start with a fresh cable and check other display outputs on the card before filing a return. The PSU shouldn't be ruled out either—it's in the lower-end, budget category. Power delivery matters more than just wattage; a solid 650W will perform much better than a weak 1200W unit.

It functioned properly for a while before suddenly shutting down again today. The system was using the latest Windows update and default BIOS settings. I plan to replace the AC power cord tomorrow, assuming it's just a faulty cable.

I wouldn't ignore the PSU entirely. Inconsistent performance and mysterious power issues suggest a low-quality unit. The positive side is that the MSI MPG range offers affordable yet reliable PSUs.

I've used this power supply for roughly five years, and I haven't noticed any problems before. I'm assuming the issue might be with the cord itself—maybe it's worn out or damaged. I'll check it tomorrow and see what I find. It seems like the cord could have been in use longer than the device.

I always advise trying the $5 option first before opting for the $100 one.

I swapped the power cord and the whole surge protector, and the screen came back on instantly. Thinking it through, I planned to replace the power strip too while I was at Best Buy, given how long I've used it. It survived a severe 70 MPH wind storm that knocked out power two weeks ago. I'll wait a few days before confirming it's fixed this time.

Stay safe, chances are it's just old cables.

Absolutely, it feels the same for you too. It seems I really hit the jackpot this time. I’m happy I enrolled in the Net+ certification course. I wouldn’t have considered a surge protector at first.

Looking for top-tier power solutions around 1000 watts. Ensuring you don’t compromise on performance.
