You recently assembled your initial PC, yet the GPU remains silent when connected to your monitor. It functions normally with a display attached to your motherboard, and both fans and LEDs operate correctly. System details: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-core; Cooler – Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120; Board – Asus ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI ATX AM5; RAM – TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30; Storage – SK Hynix Gold P31 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME SSD; Graphics – PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24 GB (refurbished); Case – Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower; Power Supply – MSI MAG A1000GL PCIE5 1000W 80+ Gold Certified; Cooling – ARCTIC P12 56.3 CFM 120 mm fan; BIOS – Windows 11 Home 64-bit, version 3024. Appreciate any assistance!
I've experienced hardware updates requiring a restart to show properly. Are you using separate PSU cables for the GPU or connecting them in a chain? If not, please try using the three PSU cables individually. It would be helpful if you could test the GPU on another desktop.
You're connecting three separate cables, including one from the 16-pin port on your power supply because it only came with two 8-pin to 8-pin options. You mentioned you don't have another desktop.
I considered skipping the one with the 16pin slot and daisy chain version (just a guess). Make sure all connections are secure at the end. Also, do you know anyone who does this? Edited August 13, 2024 by leclod
