I had been using my RX 6600 XT for two months when the HDMI port suddenly stopped working after a storm. I switched to a DisplayPort to VGA adapter that I had been using for my second monitor, and everything was fine until about a month later when the first adapter failed. Then, a week ago, my PC and monitor were powered on, but the monitor still wouldn’t receive input. After restarting, it booted normally but no video appeared. I changed RAM, CPU, and the card—still nothing. I tried another PCIe slot and nothing changed. The VGA cable seemed fine. I replaced my Ryzen 5 5600 with a Ryzen 2200G, removed the graphics card, and it worked with integrated graphics for about two minutes before going green. I reset the drivers using Shift+Ctrl+Win+B, but that didn’t help. After a restart, I got a green screen once when switching PCIe slots. Throughout this, the GPU diagnostics showed problems most of the time, though the system would still boot and run basic tasks like mouse lighting and fans.

I’m running a Ryzen 5 5600 at the time, and my current setup includes MSI Tomahawk B450M with a Ryzen 2200G, an EVGA 450/500 PSU, Windows 11. I’ve done some overclocking on the GPU but reverted it to factory settings afterward. I’m wondering if upgrading the PSU would be worthwhile, especially since I’ve heard PSU quality can affect performance. Also, is it safe to burn out the GPU’s ports during use?

Check GPU on a different machine to confirm problems. If no issues, proceed to verify power supply unit.
