I haven't checked in recently, but it seems they mentioned running zen 3 for a while as a cost-effective alternative to zen 4. It looks like they might still be supporting it. For solid confirmation, consider reaching out to a more reliable source instead of my current thoughts.
I think i've read something about AMD producing zen 3 until at least end of 2023 a few days ago. Can't remember if thats true or where i read it.
They just shared the 5600 and lower budget figures recently, and it looks like they won’t release the 7000s budget anytime soon. I’m not too confident about the Zen3 chips lasting much longer—especially for models like the 5800X3D and higher, which might reach end of life soon.
While 5800X3D offers strong performance, it doesn<|pad|> a bit in terms of future upgrades. I’m leaning toward moving to AM5 or newer Intel chipsets from the 12th and 13th generation because of this. It’s not exactly a cheap choice either. Still, I’m kind of...relatively sure AM4 will stay around for a while and might be available with Ryzen 7000 models. AMD mentioned that recently.
5800X3D represents a progression step. Zen3 is expected to remain in production for another few years since AM4 remains widely used, leaving little incentive to discontinue its sales. Plus, Zen2 is still being manufactured.
They intend to continue offering 5800x3d as an upgrade route for existing AM4 users. It supports playback on the seasaw alongside all the newer heavy models.
They keep producing as long as demand exists. Prices will stay high for a while. Zen 4 will be costly to acquire because it needs DDR5, which is double the cost of DDR4. There’s also demand from those using older AM4 boards seeking affordable upgrades, and Zen 3 offers that solution.
