It's an HP Pavilion HPE h9, just received for free with no prior condition. After installing a GPU and Windows, everything worked until it would restart and require the rear chassis fan to be plugged in. Once powered on, the system would shut down immediately, then fail to power on at all. I attempted a CMOS reset and swapped another PSU without success. It seems the power supply may have damaged the motherboard. The button might be faulty, but after checking the connector and trying to short the pins, no progress was made. I'm unsure if the issue is with the PSU or the internal components. Consider testing a different power source or seeking professional repair.
Avoid doing that while the system is active, plug it in wrongly and suddenly you’ll need a new motherboard.
