Your PC would need a full reset to clear everything, but since you have important data on other drives, resetting it might erase those too. Reinstalling Windows would remove all files, including the ones on your main boot drive.

It won't change the boot sector most probably, placing Windows in C:\ is possible during setup.

Ensure it doesn't impact them; however, if needed, a brief disconnect followed by a reset is possible. For optimal safety, disconnect any drives containing sensitive data.

Just turn off the connection, the drives. In theory resetting your OS shouldn’t affect other drives, but errors can happen. Don’t be as foolish as I’ve been before. Just disconnect them—it’s nearly effortless and a sure way to prevent a major problem.
