I’m not from the U.S., and I’m sure no one has ever tried to force Comcast into doing something they don’t want to do. It’s crucial to understand why Comcast is important, or you could face costs of tens of thousands of dollars if you try to route a line between areas they don’t serve. If you’re okay with Comcast handling cables from other providers, why not stick with the local company? I once had cables delivered to a remote farm—just over 4 kilometers away—and it cost around $35,000.
They don’t handle things like this since a few customers reached out politely because they “truly needed Comcast.” If you had more money, perhaps they’d listen. But honestly, you definitely don’t “need Comcast.”
You’re stuck with local providers. Comcast needs a franchise deal with the city or state to work there, which would likely mean they have to connect the city’s infrastructure. That’s unlikely. You might be lucky if you already have fiber or coax in your area—others may not have those options.
Thanks everyone, your assistance means a lot. The main issues are: the variety of channels available on my TV is already sufficient, and the speed I receive is only 1GB. CTL and Cox can only offer up to 35Mbps, which is far below what I need, and the channels I see are limited to what Comcast provides. That's why...
Looking up online, Century Link provides Fiber with speeds of 1Gbps in about 22% of Las Vegas. It's uncertain whether you'll be in a location with this service, but they do offer a 1Gbps plan that outperforms Comcast. https://broadbandnow.com/Nevada/Las-Vegas Cox also lists up to 1Gbps, using the same Docsis technology as Comcast. If Cox is available at your new address, you likely have access to Gigabit internet.
I checked the Cox website, but there aren't any services available in that location. For CTL, they provide speeds up to 30Mbps there as well.
Sadly, you won't find success right away. You'll need to wait until the century link assigns your area a 1GB connection.
