Windows 10 will start accepting fresh installs using your Windows 7 or 8 license key in November. Upgrading from either Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10 without doing a fresh installation causes lots of problems for many people. I advise waiting for the upcoming patch for Windows 10 that enables doing a clean installation using your Windows 7 or 8 license key, and then doing said clean installation.
