I highlight this section: In Settings - Under Activation I see: Edition - Windows 10 Pro Activation - Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account. The interesting part is that my Dell T3500 appears in my account when I log in using my old Hotmail account, which suggests the activation should remain valid.

At that point, you still have the option to secure your license. In short, once the "Get Windows 10" tool showed up on your machine, your free upgrade was secured, and all OEM licenses were finalized too.
