I've faced some overheating problems with my 5800x, often hitting 90 degrees even when not fully loaded. Light gaming usually doesn't cause such high temps. I've checked the BIOS and set PBO limits, which helped lower temperatures but caused crashes in every game I play. It's confusing how those settings affect performance and stability. My system specs include an R7 5800x, 2x8GB RAM, 3200Mhz CL14, ASRock x570s PG, 750W PSU, and ASUS TUF RTX 3080.
To configure pbo, simply define a maximum power consumption limit. Setting a high power cap should prevent crashes unless another issue exists. The system displays a blue screen indicating a memory or hardware fault. Have you ensured your BIOS is up to date?

I’d test the newest non-beta versions to check for improvements. Various blue screen messages suggest a RAM problem, so I’d disable XMP settings to see if it helps. PBO configurations seem okay. I usually leave the amps unlocked (set at 200) and just control the wattage instead. Perhaps that could be worth trying even if I’m not sure it’s the main issue.
