He swapped his cooler for an AIO model and lost the display. After swapping RAM to a new stick, everything else stayed plugged in but didn’t function. I removed all peripherals, unplugged the old CPU, and tried using the original CPU—still nothing. I thought it might be the GPU, so I installed an older one and it worked perfectly. Then I put his GPU inside and it functioned, which confused me. He has a 5600x, Aorus B550 Pro Ax, and an Evga 3060. His case came with Gen 3 speeds, but when I first assembled it I had to adjust the BIOS from Gen 4 to Gen 3 if needed.

Which scenario applies? If only vertical mounting is needed, omit the riser cable.
