I saw after an Origin update that you can pre-load Battlefield 1, what exactly is meant by that? Does it mean that you can download the game and all its files on October 14th but they don't unlock or become playable until October 21st, if so whats the point of pre-loading?

Yes, pre-loading is available for users with slower internet connections or those concerned about throttling during peak download times. The game is nearly ready for release, and pre-ordering could let you start playing a few days earlier. It’s been a while since the open beta began.

Sure, just make sure to download everything and be ready once the game releases.

Sure thing. If you need something bad, you can join in at the same time as others... or just within limits.
