Found an old Dell Inspiron 3493 with no power left. After connecting the power supply and turning on the power button, nothing works and there’s no LED light. I fixed it by doing a static reset and reattaching the power jack. Updated December 20, 2022 by Switch pro.

Check for a tangible power button on the supply unit and ensure every connector is firmly attached to the motherboard.

From your response it seems you successfully removed the battery. The charger is still providing power, suggesting an internal issue within the laptop or a faulty charging port.
