I was working on an older OEM machine for my brother and faced issues when trying to post it online. The fans kept spinning, the CPU fan changed speed unpredictably, but there was no display signal. The new parts included an ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard, a Ryzen 3600 G.Skill DDR4 3000MHz RAM, a 300W OEM PSU, and a GT730 as the display driver. I’ve tried troubleshooting extensively, but no other compatible MOBO or CPU for that socket is known. I’m considering three possible reasons:
1. The motherboard manual mentioned memory speeds up to 2933 MHz instead of 3000 MHz—this small difference might matter.
2. The B450 chipset might not support the latest Ryzen models by default, even though the box claims Ryzen 3000 support.
3. The motherboard packaging was damaged during shipping, possibly affecting functionality.
I’m unsure if the memory spec is crucial for booting or what’s likely causing the POST failure. Feel free to ask more about these components.
With this card and the connection made, there was no post issue. It doesn't matter.
That's correct, the setup had only four pins. It functioned properly the previous day on the older motherboard.
