I would launch the installer to the section where you can access CMD. Execute a "clean all" command via CMD, then proceed with the installation of Windows.

I mainly stored files for school, plus lots of photos and music. The laptop let me use PayPal online, but I never saved the password. It seems unlikely anyone could find it.
